Windows Version

Contains core information about the installed Windows version including serial number, product key, activation status and Windows Update configuration.  

 

Configuration

Brings up informations about all aspects of the operating systems configuration:
System folders
Boot options: determines the boot behaviour of Windows.
System parameters: determines the look & feel of the user interface, for example whether smooth scrolling or several animation effects should be enabled.
Autorun entries: Registry entries for executables that are going to be run automatically when Windows starts.
File extensions
Power Management
Input devices
System files

Current Configuration
List of all currently installed devices. Shows Hardware ID (registry root path of the device) and device status as well as additional driver information if available. Use the lefthanded grid to select a main category of devices.
Meaning of several category names:
fdc=Floppy Disk Controller
hdc=Hard Disk Controller
Legacy Driver=Device Driver in Windows folder, sub folder \Drivers

Devices, that aren´t properly installed, are highlighted (red font color).

Security

This information section lists information about security related Windows settings, running security related applications (antivirus software, firewalls, web browsers, mail clients), updates installed since first Windows installation, autorun entries, services and device drivers. There is also an event protocol, which stores significant system events like installation/uninstallation of applications, new autorun entries etc.

 

Windows Tools

Conveniently access about hundred valuable Microsoft Windows tools and services from the pool created here. Click <Start service> in order to run the desired tool/service/applet.

 

Installed Applications
List of currently installed applications that come with uninstall support. Therefore the list doesn´t consider apps that are simply copied to a folder - also the default OS applications and tools installed during Windows installation don´t show up here. The various weblinks are not added by Gebhard Software but reported from registry entries "as is". Therefore Gebhard Software isn´t responsible for the availability and contents of these weblinks. You can click on the links. Doing it your default web browser will be loaded with the given URL.

 

Network

This information section lists information about net adapters, Windows network, ressources, remote access connections including connection statistics for the active connection. Scanning the network for shared ressources may last several minutes. There is also a test, whether the internet conncetion is working by trying to access a URL on the Dr. Hardware server.

Hint: You can get detailed connection statistics for UDF, TCP and ICMP protocols under Resources/System monitor, especially under Windows NT/200x, XP and Vista.
